Refresh At the Ranch

Veterans, First Responders & Supporters of New Day Ranch

Refresh at The Ranch is an equine therapeutic program designed to heal, recharge, and offer opportunities for giving back.

We developed Refresh at The Ranch not only to support veterans and first responders coping with stress and trauma but also to express our gratitude to the supporters of New Day Ranch, giving us the chance to give back to them.

Our program provides veterans and first responders with an opportunity to step away from the daily occupational stressors that come with the job and practice holistic self-care in a serene, therapeutic environment.

Perfect for those seeking a breath off resh air, a surprising adventure, or a new perspective, each Refresh at the Ranch session offers a variety of FREE activities for participants to choose from:

  • Guided interactions and activities with NDR's horses, led by our Certified Equine Specialists in Mental Health and Learning

  • Fly fishing on our lake, led by members of Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers (NKFF)

  • Yoga and/or Tai Chi

  • Walking the nature trails and/or bird watching

  • Reading from one of our rocking chairs overlooking the lake

  • Animal encounters with our barnyard crew (e.g., goats, alpacas, sheep)

Not all activities are offered at each session of Refresh at the Ranch

Refresh At The Ranch is designed for:

  • Veterans: Helps process emotions related to their service through equine therapeutic sessions.

  • First Responders: Provides a space to decompress and reconnect with their purpose beyond work.

  • Supporters of New Day Ranch: We honor the incredible membership or support groups who graciously lend a hand to New Day Ranch through generous donations or their gift of time, enabling us to continue our mission.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
